Description :
Perform full cycle accounting services utilizing cloud applications such as QBO or Xero;
Assist with completion of payroll functions.
Prepare basic T4 returns.
Prepare month-end close procedures including reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards and ensuring transactions are properly journalized.
Assist with government filings such as sales tax returns and payroll filings.
Prepare monthly and/or quarterly financial reports and management reports.
Collaborate with clients on a regular basis and assist them with day-to-day accounting inquires.
Communicate issues to manager and collaborate on resolutions.
Requirements :
At least 1 year of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a professional services setting.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, enrolment in the CPA program an asset.
1-2 years’ experience in the use of relevant computerized and cloud-based financial accounting systems.
Intermediate to high level proficiency with MS Excel, Xero, and QuickBooks Online.
Knowledge and understanding of ASPE.
Knowledge and understanding of HST rules.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
